The Drumduan Trail Run is a great step up from the half marathon distance and allows competitors to challenge themselves over ever-changing terrain in a stunning location. Starting and finishing at the Cable Bay Adventure Park, the run takes you on a journey up into the hills surrounding Cable Bay. With views across Tasman Bay and access to private land, each kilometer offers challenge and variety - a great way to spend a morning.
This location is known for its scenery and the Drumduan does not disappoint. Forest trails, coastal walkways, private farmland...this course has it all. Expect approx. 1400 meters of elevation and a length of approx 25.5km
There are 3 aid stations on this course.
The minimum age to enter the the Drumduan is 16 years old as of 23th May 2026
We have the following cut off times in place for the 25km course, this is to insure safety of the competitors on course. Make sure you get to the below locations before the cut off times listed. If you don't make the cut off time and get pulled from the course please respect the decision given. 25km race start time is 9am.
The Woolshed Aid Station at The Glen 10.05km - Cut off time 11:20am
Cable Bay Aid Station at the holiday park 17.79km - Cut off time 2:50pm
Quarry Aid Station 24.72km - Cut off time 4:45pm
Gear Checks will occur either during Race Registration, or on the morning of the race.
There will also be spot gear checks throughout the race.
The gear list below is compulsory. If you wish to carry extra items that you would usually take when running then please do so. There are 3 aid stations on this course with Tailwind Nutrition, water and snacks, it is recommended you carry with you any extra items you might require during the Drunduan.
You MUST carry the following with you in your pack:
Long sleeved thermal/merino.
Seam sealed jacket
Woolen or thermal hat and gloves
Emergency/survival bag or blanket
Whistle
Water – no less than 1L of fluid
